How FAA registrations are legally structured

A state-level review of official FAA registrant types and literal TRUSTEE, TRUST and LLC wording in public registered-owner names—without turning those signals into an unsupported anonymity score.

Not an anonymity score: A trust, trustee, corporation or LLC can be entirely legitimate and transparent. These are legal-form and text indicators only; they do not reveal or prove hidden beneficial ownership.

The percentage uses registrations whose owner name contains the whole word TRUSTEE, TRUST or LLC. Every rule remains explicitly unapproved for a future “anonymity” score.

Methodology

What is counted

Kept current FAA master-file records carrying valid status V and a state or territory code.
Counted the FAA’s published registrant-type codes separately, including individual, partnership, corporation, co-owned, government and LLC.
Matched only the whole words TRUSTEE, TRUST and LLC in the public registered-owner name.
Aggregated results by state or territory; no individual owner names or street addresses are published here.
Published the exact proposed rules in a separate CSV with every scoring approval set to false.

What this cannot show

The FAA file does not directly identify beneficial ownership, privacy motivation or unlawful concealment. Company and trust structures require case-by-case corporate-record research. Use this page to find patterns worth investigating, not to accuse owners or rank states by secrecy.
